The Party Is Over.

The Party is over - imagine a parliament comprised of 650 truly independent M.P's?

Our political party system is broken and corrupted by outside influence but none seem willing to challenge the status-Quo.

Until now.

There has always been a history of excellent Independent Members, most of whom have been crushed by the system. As they say, when a good person meets a bad system, the system always wins.

Independent members are obviously the way forward but there has been no mechanism to co-ordinate the prospective candidates in a way that would not resemble a political "party".  

Until now.

The mistake that every prospective Independent makes is to share a manifesto for the approval of the constituents. 

"I believe in this, I believe in that. I promise that if I am elected I will..."

The consequence of which is to alienate a cross-section of the voters who disagree with the proposals. A manifesto drawn up to appeal to the majority. Just the same as the leading parties. Whatever it takes to get voted in.

There has never been a solution to fix this problem. It's either Conservative, or Labour or very occasionally someone else.

Until now.

The radical reform that is proposed by www.greaterbritain.co.uk is that Prospective Independent Candidates have NO manifesto. That the manifesto will be determined by the constituents after elected. That the electorate will be accountable to themselves. Their community; their decision on what matters most.

That's the bare-bones of this vision.

It does, however, require one thing.

It requires persons of CHARACTER to stand as a Prospective Independent candidate.

The role is not dissimilar from that of a current M.P - except that our M.P will be accountable to the constituents, not to a Party.

Your country needs you.

It matters little your experience. The bar has already been set very low.

What matters is values and Integrity. The ability to have empathy and understanding.
